Effective Staff Performance Appraisal

How to best carry out appraisals and transfer to the organization development plans and future training are the common concern of appraisers and managers. This training in conducting staff appraisals will equip participants with confidence and skills in performing internal appraisal. The course will identify the benefit of using appraisals, the key skills required and how to assess its effectiveness. The focus of the performance appraisal is measuring and improving the actual performance of the employee and also the future potential of the employee. Its aim is to measure what an employee does. Discussion and practice sessions are provided during each section of the workshop program allowing participants to build skills in these areas.

 

Program objectives:

At the end of this training, participants should be able to:

  • review employee performance over a period of time
  • define purpose of appraisal process and employees’ responsibilities
  • develop an effective appraisal system for accurate feedback
  • set clear objectives for appraisal development with SMART module
  • define expected performance for staff and identify areas for improvement
  • strengthen the relationship between subordinates and management team during the appraisal process
  • conduct appraisals in a confident and professional manner
  • evaluate and rate the employees accurately
  • set action plans and development plans
